THE NANTUCKET SHARK DIVING EXPERIENCE

We meet at the boat for a Nantucket Shark Diving trip prior to your scheduled charter time. Depending on the time of year, we normally run anywhere from a half hour to an hour to get to the shark grounds located off of Nantucket Island. In the deep waters of the gulfstream the water is cool and abundant with natural wildlife. During our run we could encounter other wildlife including whales, dolphins and other fish.

Once we arrive at the Nantucket Shark grounds, our team of shark experts will begin the process of chumming to attract a variety of shark species. It normally takes less than an hour for sharks to start responding to our chum by coming closer and closer to our boat. Once the sharks start to arrive, our team will help all of our divers prepare for the shark dive by getting into wetsuits and choosing your appropriate dive gear. When guests are ready, we then help them into the comfort of our shark cage to enjoy a face to face shark encounter.

During the dive, our shark cage is tethered to the side of our boat for easy and quick access into and out of the water. Guests are invited to enter and exit the cage as many times as they like while we are on the shark grounds, with a maximum of two divers at any one time in the cage. If your team is freediving with sharks in the open ocean, our team will help you get into the water and lead you as you get close with the sharks. A Nantucket Shark Dive is designed to be responsible for the wildlife and safe for our guests.
